jQuery Web Rating works just like any other star rating system. It lets the user hover his mouse over a series of "voting" / "ranking" items and records the value of the clicked element.
The plugin is quite customizable, allowing the developer to use any type of graphic element for the voting marker, from hearts, to smileys, stars, bugs, numbers, and anything else you may think of.
It also allows the developer to customize the number of visible elements (maximum voting value) and also provides a simple way of relaying the voted value to a database for storage.
jQuery Web Rating works together with a local cookie file to limit the number of times a user can vote, and also provides some callback functions for scripting various other actions into the plugin's behavior.
Multiple rating widgets can be added to the same page, each one with its own counter and style.
